telephone cable to Sky+ box
When Sky was first installed I was told I had to keep the phone line connected to the Sky box for a year.
I have been with Sky much much longer than a year now and as I am redecorating, wonder if I still need the phone cable plugged into my box, running round the room and back to the phone socket.
Is there any advantage/disadvantage to keeping this cable?

Re: telephone cable to Sky+ box
You only need the cable if you use interactive services or order box office shows. It serves no other purpose.

Re: telephone cable to Sky+ box
Long time since i worked at Sky but pretty sure a call back was made when a software update was performed. The telephone line was certainly required for engineer use when changing a faulty box.
