Is there nothing I can do on about the noise margin and line attenuation on my line ?

If you have any extensions then it removes the phone signal from the broadband signal at the point of entry to the house.

If there is a difference in the speed or stats in the test socket to the normal postion of the router then it is worth using one and it also gets rid of the microfilters at every phone socket.

If you are still plugged into the Test socket and getting the speed you were, fitting a filtered faceplate will allow you to use your other extensions and give you a similar speed. It will not increase your speed.
