      face plate will help me?

2day i have noticed that where my master socket is there is an extension wire (black wire and a green wire-not connected- and a white wire and an orange wire which are connected) the orange wire and the white wire are connected to the back of the master socket faceplate this extension goes out side up to my window and through the wall. if i get a filtered face plate this extension will be directly connected to the filterd faceplate so will this help my connection?

my status on the master socket on my wireless laptop are

On the face of it yes, but could you check that with the faceplate removed, there is no dial tone on any extensions connected to that line.

If you fit a filter faceplate, then the extension socket can be wired in two ways.

      (1) it can be connected to the filterd outputs, so that it would only work as a telephone socket, not for broadband.

      (2) it can be connected to work as an ADSL extension, in which case you can connect a router to it for broadband, and, using an additional filter, a telephone.

The best way is to connect the extension as at (1) and move the router to the master socket, use a network cable to connect router to your computer.

Why have you started yet another thread?

You now have 3 threads on the topic of trying to improve your connection.

Can I merge your 2 new threads regarding the faceplate?

PLEASE DO NOT START ANY NEW THREADS RELATING TO THIS TOPIC

No it will not improve your connection, the best connection is as I have already described, place the router close to the master, use a filter faceplate and connect youe exsiting extension to the filtered output. Dont worry, filter faceplates come with full instructions.
