If you save the picture and increase the brightness you can see the cable used definately changes up by the guttering (looks to be almost right where the overhead reaches the house) is there likely to be a junction box tucked right up there?

lol,. great minds eh, i did that but couldn't make out a box but i think it must be there, in which case all that is needed is some external cable(or internal if going straight into the house and routing through loft space??) and some ladders!!

      Re: What can I do?

Yes sorry about the rubbish picture, it looks as if it goes into a little box on the guttering and then out again and down to where the wall is.

How hard is it to use the Jelly crimps? I am used to cat5 cabling for work but not heard of jelly crimps before.

      Thanks

      Re: What can I do?

I would get the lid off the box and see what is there-some are IDC. The crimps just have the wires pushed in and crimp(with the tool) although i am sure you can do them with pliers if careful

      Re: What can I do?

So it is just a case of putting the connector on the end of the wire and plugging it in?

I dont want to mess it up and then have to get BT to fix it and pay stupid amounts

How much would a reasonable rate for a local bloke from the paper be?

      Re: What can I do?

You won't mess it up-they are just crimp connectors-you may already have IDC so worth checking first. If you are careful you can reuse crimps, i would recommend new ones TBH though.
