      Faceplate installed

I have just installed the ADSL Nation faceplace (XTE-2005) and have noticed very little if no difference in the speed, however still when placing the router directly into the test socket I get the full 16mb.

      Re: Faceplate installed

You need to post your stats for both cases.
BTW have you wired any extensions to the faceplate, or used the A and B terminals?

Well that explains the problem then, the A&B terminals are unfiltered, you should be using the numbered terminals.

Didn't you follow the Installation guide ? It shows clearly where the extensions need to be connected.

      Re: Faceplate installed

      I wasn't 100% sure what it meant.

The tables shows the numbers next to b and a

So should the cable plugged into B be put into number 2 and A be put into 5?

      Re: Faceplate installed

I think we may need some confirmation from adslnation, afaik, if you plugged the wires into A and B on the faceplate, the faceplate should still be filtered and give much the same results as the Test socket. But I think connecting this way means you still need filters on the extensions. If you connected the wires to the A-B terminals within the linebox, that is wrong, they must be connected to the faceplate terminals 2 and 5.

I think if you connect to the 2 and 5 terminals all will be well.

      Re: Faceplate installed

Hello, I swapped the wires to 2 and 5 and I am now getting the full 16mb. It appears A and B is for unfiltered extensions and therefore still need the filter. The instructions are not that clear, however I did skim over them when installing.

Glad you got it sorted, the terminals are in a table to indicate the equivalent terminal for filtered and unfiltered.
