      Re: Low Broadband speed

Your sync/noise margin has changed which means either you never were capped (and just have an exceedingly dodgy line) or Sky have made an adjustment their end.

How long have you been connected with SkyBB? If only a week or so then we could be seeing DLM working.

      Re: Low Broadband speed

This is getting very odd. Back at the beginning of the tread your stats showed an attenuation of 27db (excellent) but a low sync, probably due to both a noisy line and a capped connection.

Then your attenuation changed to 42db (I didn't notice that at the time) but you appeared to be uncapped as your noise margin dropped to only a bit over default and your sync rose.

Now your attenuation is showing as 40db, still uncapped as your noise margin is a shade under default and your sync slightly higher as a result.

Your attenuation shouldn't be changing like that. Even a poor quality line shouldn't be able to shift attenuation from 27db to 42db I wonder if that first 27db reading was the router misreporting

In answer to your question, if your line was relatively noise free and your attenuation is really 27db then you can comfortably get the full 8meg for your package or 16meg if you moved to Max. If it is really 40 or 42db then you could still get the full 8meg on Mid or 9-10meg on Max. But, only if you have a relatively quiet line.
