We often get this problem people call with disconnection problems etc with a modem. Going over the set-up with them and then they are adamant the wiring can't be the problem as the house is only 2 years old. We have to explain to them that the electrician typically has no training in telecoms and that the telephone cable they picked up from their electrical wholesaler is OK for voice use but is simply a nightmare for broadband. It is even worse if they have just paid an electrician to install the extensions for them. After all any wire makes a connection doesn't it ?

      @ Adsl nation.
I'm sure you do, and people will get a bit upset. It is quite reasonable to expect a new home or phone extension to work with BB.

      Re: BT Iplate

Just an update on this, we have had very good feedback in the last few months from customers who have fitted the latest NTE5 with bell wire filter. We have since compared it to a BT iPlate(which at the moment is been offered at silly prices so we won't be stocking it just yet) and whilst the iPlate features a different design to the NTE5 the results are identical.

      Re: BT Iplate

I already have a split faceplate (plug-in type) fitted to the master socket (adsl+phone seperated) Can i fit the i-plate and still use the plug-in split plate.
