Re: Question about LINE ATTENUATION
Line attentuation measures distance to the exchange. Sadly just because your live marginally nearer it doesnt mean that your line follows the same route as his one, which may be more direct

Re: Question about LINE ATTENUATION
To answer your question, Yes your internal wiring can effect the attenuation of your broadband connection.
Now I'll try and answer the other question "why is my friends connection faster?" There are lots of reasons, he may have better internal wiring, his line to the exchange may be a lot shorter, (your "as the crow flies" distance means nothing, phone cables may take a differant route)
For you to get the best performance you can, you need to follow the advice in cables and faceplates on this site.

Re: Question about LINE ATTENUATION
Thanks, Since my first post, and while I was receving 2 very quick replys
(thanks again)..
I tryed the remove my face plate, and connected my router directly into the internal connector of the BT main socket..
Nothing changed (well except my connection speed is about 3700kbps), and since changing it back to normal, my connection is still about 3700kbps, so I guess it's about that time of day (for faster connection speeds).

Re: Question about LINE ATTENUATION
Sky LLU products do not suffer from faster connection speeds(traffic shaping) at any time of the day. With your high attentuation a speed of 3700 is probably slightly above normal

Re: Question about LINE ATTENUATION
But they do suffer from interference in the evening, which I assume is what the OP was referring to.
