Re: Try your master socket for better results
I think there's a 16384 profile as well
as my brother inlaw has 16300 1114
and a forced lower margin only results in 16383
so he's capped at 16384
he's on SVBN
not that it matters if you are set at 16 or 18 as you wont reach anywhere near that
maybe 4mb if you are lucky 900 up

Re: Try your master socket for better results
Ditto.
The updates are being spread over a 4 week period. They started about a week ago, so 3 more weeks of this silly cycle remain.
Whilst some people are being placed on the update list, the promised 24 or 48 hour window is being increased to 72 hours already.
The best policy is to disable the WiFi abilities on the router and check periodically to see if the update has been applied.
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

Re: Try your master socket for better results
Ha the missus will kill me if I disable the WiFi, she uses it to make facebook profile updates via her mobile during the day!
My dad had a homeplug he wanted me to test as he couldn't get it working... Well guess what it's working now!, connected via his old 54g wireless rougter (with the wireless disabled) placed next to the PC's upstairs.
I now have internet upstairs while router is still in test socket.
All I need now is to purchase an adsl nation master filter plate which I shall do once the good people of Sky get me on the best connection possible!
NB He aint gettng the homeplug back

Re: Try your master socket for better results
Hi I have a new problem,
Went to bed with everything working fine:
1. Router plugged into test socket via a sky filter and voice phone into the other connector on the filter. (I could get on the net and make voice calls).
Now when I woke this morning I've got 'no line' displayed on my phone and get npo dial tone, yet can connect to the net. I have changed none of the wiring from last night and even tried plugging the phone into the test socket on it's own, but still have 'no line'.
What could be the problem. Have sky switched the line to ADSL only?

Re: Try your master socket for better results
It looks like one of the wires back to the exchange has become broken or disconnected. This allows the broadband to work, but not the phone. You will have to call your phone rental provider and report the fault.

Yes, if you pay the rental to them, they are responsible..
