On the whole we have found Royal Mail to be very good except when they are on strike ! When there is a problem it tends to be a card not being left. The most bizarre thing I have found with our own post is that when our regular postal delivery man is on holiday we suddenly stop receiving anything that might be valuable. Apparently, it is a security issue that the delivery office do not trust the temporary staff do deliver items that may be valuable.

The main advantage of Royal Mail has to be the cost though as if someone orders 20M of CW1308 cable at 8 they are unlikely to want to spend another 6-8 to have it sent via Special Delivery or City link etc. You might say well offer a premium delivery service but the trouble is that the vast majority of items we sell are low value and very few people want a premium delivery service. As a result we would have very low volumes of parcels for the likes of City Link who would charge is in the region of 10 a parcel due to the low volume, unlike major retailers like Dell who send thousands of big heavy boxes who probably pay 5 a box due to the volume.

      Hello,
I do apologise if you think I am here to discredit you, i'm not. I am just another customer who sees the money has been taken from his bank account but has nothing to show for it.

What did you want me to say?, I just got the impression that now the sale was "complete", I was out on my own.

I dont mate, and to be fair, I found your prices excellent, hence why I used your company.

I dont doubt that. It was all your helpful posts and general all round good reports of your product that made me try out your shop, just unfortuanate I never got anything.

I will call the post office tomorrow and get the missus to look in the garden in case the postman has thrown something over. If I cant find it, I guess I have no choice but to place another order.

      cheers

My own experience is item ordered on 22/11 & delivered next day.
      Cannot fault the service.
The problem here appears to be the good old GPO!!

Can understand the frustration.......appears to be the po fault.

I did order a face plate and "little plastic tool" which was delivered in a matter of days. Later i ordered a 10m of cable, again a couple of days.

I think you have just been unlucky. Hope it arrives soon.

I would like to apologise to adsl nation as the reason i never received the item was due to me putting in "XXXXX road" instead of "XXXXX avenue" for my delivery address.

I recently moved (a few roads down!) and my old address was "xxx road"

Missus went to postoffice, managed to get them to hunt around and she got the package.

      Sorry

Aye, you have to be careful with address details as some members of the PO staff do not like using common sense if an address is not 100% correct. I'm sure ADSLnation will be happy to know that you are now totally ashamed of yourself for blaming them for your own basic error during the order process

It may be better if you edited your first post to reflect what actually happened instead of just obliterating it.
