    Going bald slowly......

    This is a discussion on Going bald slowly...... within the Cabling and faceplate help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; I think the TPS has been done, my line is quiet as a mouse but speeds are still low. Regards....

      I think the TPS has been done, my line is quiet as a mouse but speeds are still low.

      Had a wee look today although there wasnt any update.
      Had a look at the line as well this was about 3pm the port status was "Down" most probably the router was switched off. I see the configured rate was 16Mbit so it should have trained in at around that speed.

      Rebooted the router and now Im at 13 or so meg's and with a bit of playing I could get my 16 megs back.

      Noticed this morning i've crackle/noise on the line.

      Just noticed that when I use the phone Im still getting disconnected and my speeds then drop well below what they should/can be.

      Yeah I was thinking that. I expect there should be an update from BT quite soon I would say Monday at the latest. Im on tomorrow, ill have a look at the ticket and see if the TPS has been done and if it has been done sure ill phone you and let you know chances are it wont be done to Monday, some BT engineers in the exchange work weekends but bot them all, if I had the choice I wouldnt be working any weekend lol.

      Just had a phone call from Sky and they said the the TPS will be done by BT tomorrow and to check my speeds/line after 9PM.

      So the TPS has not been carried out as a thought?

      Yeah I had a look at the ticket today and it will be completed tomorrow, just to let you know the ticket was closed by the agent who called you.

      My speeds are back Yehhhhhhhhhhhh

      And I dont have any tones on the line BUT.............

      When I use the phone (like now as a test) my connection drops

      Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

      Ummm just reconnected and now Im back to 7MB

      Uhh god so you cant use the Sky BB and the telephone at the same time??
      That sounds like a cross wire issue!

      Noise on the line is back again when the router is in use.

      Sky are now sending an Openreach Engineer tomorrow so I hope he finds the problem.
