      Re: Nte-2005

The filtered side of these faceplates feeds the telephone socket, the full bandwidth is available on the ADSL port, the XTE 2005 should suit just fine.

      Re: Nte-2005

According to Support on the Nation Forum, the XTE-2005 is an updated version of the NTE-2005 and performs better on ADSL2 lines. The NTE-2005 is based on the original BT model. which dates back to the early days of Broadband. It should be fine for your purpose.

      Re: Nte-2005

That is very odd, where did you find advice that the NTE-2005 is optimised for g.dmt? Filters are not optimised for any form of broadband, the job of a filter is to block the ADSL signal. A good filter accurately blocks the ADSL signal, stopping it reaching telephone equipment and at the same time doesn't block any of the wanted telephone signal. A bad filter on the other hand either lets to much of the ADSL signal through or is inaccurate and has the unwanted side effect of blocking some of the phone signal getting though, in particular signals that are close to the edge of the voice range such as the caller ID signal, and the top end of the range in a fax or analogue modem.

ADSL 2 uses a wider range of frequencies and as a result some old filters don't work as well. So newer filters like the XTE-2005 take account of the newer DSL standards. Old filters like the NTE-2005 were designed before ADSL 2 and therefore not as good at handling ADSL2.

      ^^^^^^^

      Maybe this was your ADVICE

If so, it is nice to have an expert in this contributing to the forum, questions on faceplates arise every day.
