You could try here and save yourself the hassle of crimping.

Or here, or here, or here, or here.

But if you have to make it up from the bits, there's plenty of CAT5 cable, RJ45 connectors and crimping tools available on eBay.

I need it with out the ends on as i need to thread it through a conduit which is already in the wall so will not go through with the connectors on the cable,

Is it fine to cut the ends off and put new ones back on

Sure, no problem. but it's cheaper to buy the bits rather than cut a long patch cable. Do a Cat5 and RJ45 search on eBay. There's plenty on offer.

Try Screwfix.com, there's usually no problem taking stuff back and the prices are good. You can buy online or go to one of their shops if there'e one nearby.

Re: Where can i buy cat cable and tool and connectors

Hi guys. I also wish to have a wired connection but my PC doesn't have a network card. I'm not keen on opening it up to install one and reading around, I think I can use a USB Ethernet adapter instead. Assuming I am right (and I'm not au fait with this computing hardware stuff), can anyone recommend any particular one? I have Win XP with one USB2 socket and four USB1s - not too sure how to identify the USB2 socket but I guess it's trial and error. Should I buy a CAT6 cable instead of a CAT5? They are so cheap at Amazon that I might as well get the CAT6? I can't understand how PCWorld can charge those outrageous prices that they do for these cables.

Oh, I would also add that Sky has unbundled my local loop - Hooray - and I'm enjoying wonderful speeds.
