      Noise Margin & Fresh Air?

Well when we moved house, Our broadband order obviously had to be recreated thus meaning a new router sent out..

At the old house the router used to be underneath the BT socket on its chest if you like not using the feet.
With the old router no matter what, At around 3pm+ The noise margin would drop with it being on all night and only needing a reboot at 3pm.

Now, At the new place, We got the router never used it and kept using the old one, Just like before without its feet same as before around 3pm needing a reboot..

Now testing with the new one, On its feet upright with it next to the window open with air hitting it.. It seems to be more stable noise margin the same 7.3 level since Wednesday not needing a reboot, It has been hovering around 9-6db not like the old always going down to 4db!

Random it may seem - But anyone notice this aswell... More Air.. Stabler Connection?

Explains why they sent the feet

Are the firmware versions the same? v1.02.28 on mine.

Fluctuates +/- 2dB - since I disconnected the ring wire from each extension.

      Well, well, well!!

I've just tried this, noticed the bottom of my router was really quite toastie, put the feet on, opened the window about a metre away......

My SNR has gone from 9.1 to 9.9 in less than 3 minutes. Could it be a fluke??

Since saying that, My router has been most stable ever.

Been running 100+hrs without a reboot.

Re: Noise Margin & Fresh Air?

I'll test this tonight when SNR gets worse. If I don't drop below 6db as I usually do, when maxed out at 8096 I can say its been a success. We'll see....

Currently at 8db and almost dark, so far so good.
