      BT wiring question

      Hello,

Could you put my mind at ease on something?

There is a small BT junction box just inside our front door with rather tatty old wiring going in and out of it. The design of the box is very similar to this one. . .

. . . with three screw-down terminals and a block of three IDCs.

I removed the cover to take a look and found that the screw terminals were not in use. Instead the wire coming from outside is attached to the IDCs (orange wire to the bottom terminal, white/orange to the top terminal) and so is the wire going from the box to the master socket (blue/white to bottom terminal, white/blue to the top).

A couple of dopey questions for you: Firstly, are there any noticeable problems with that set-up?

And would it make sense to remove the wires, give the ends a snip and reconnect them?

      Not that I can see.

Only if they are or look corroded.
