Re: Do I have to use the router?

Thanks for all your help peeps but I still can tget online.

After a couple of pain staking phonecalls to SKY tier 1 tech support I got two differing results. SKY rep 1 stated that I need to wait 24 - 48 hours for a tier 2 rep to call the 2nd SKY rep told me I had to wait from 3 -5 days to have my router reconfigured.

On both occassions I dont seem to have a external IP address assigned to me. I have URL injectioned my username and password and fed those settings into my Belkin router but still cannot connect.

Doesn't ISP stand for internet SERVICE provider?

Well what a cack service they provide.

What really grinds me is that I actually believed the sales rep when he told me that the transition would be seamless and to expect a max of 24hrs downtime - So far it is 6 days and counting!

Sorry to hijack this thread but you can appreciate how I am feeling right now!

Just to check I changed my username to ##########@skydsl and my password to the 10 alphanumeric password extracted from the injection amd set my PPOA connection to 0/38 VCMUX with an MTU of 1500.

Thank my employer that they give me free web and walk connection!

Re: Do I have to use the router?

Forget using a non-Sky router until you have the Sky router working. On that note, we won't be able to help without some background technical info on what the problem is (sorry - "Sky is cack" won't suffice for this ).

Regarding your concerns about the Sky service, can I suggest you head over to here please... http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-unhappiness/
