      The lights are on...

      ... but nobody's at home!

I'm having what appear to be intermittent router problems.

All lights are green, but my sky service won't connect sometimes. I can't contact the router through the URL. I then try resetting the router with the pen at the back, but I get the orange tick and the whole thing freezes until I plug/unplug it.

Is this a problem with my router or is ita connection problem with sky.

      Any ideas appreciated...

Sounds like a router problem to me.

I've seen a number of reports where similar behaviour to this has been found to be caused by the router overheating. Is yours hot to the touch? The Sky router really benefits from being mounted on the supplied feet, on end, as it runs much cooler this way.

Yes, I've got it upright, and no, it's not unduly hot. I have had it on pretty much continuously for a few days though. Perhaps I should turn it off overnight?

When I've sorted out my account (too complicated to explain!) I'll talk to Sky and see what they think ...

No it should run happily for months and months at a time without being powered off. Sounds like you have a faulty router. Do you have another you can try?
