NETGEAR DG834GT router with other ISP's

I found this router (Sky-branded) fairly cheap on ebay and I want to use it, but I'm in Greece. I read that the router is locked and can't be used with ISP's other than Sky.

But the folks on the forum told me that it's possible if I flash the firmware to Netgear's and told me to ask here for the details.

Is the procedure the one found here: http://tinyurl.com/y87xz6 ?

Does it mean that I will have a new router without any of the Sky locks?

Yes. Just go to the netgear site and download the latest version of the image for the router and the software to flash it etc.

Use the wire to connect to your pc and flash it as per http://tinyurl.com/y87xz6

Don't worry if it doesn't suceed first time, just try again. I've domne it a couple of times - first time all went well second time i had to do it a couple of times
