Router Password ?? #cat /tmp/nvram
there's a 9 digit password when you enter the #cat /tmp/nvram
guess this is the router password as i cant see it on the router settings as its encrypted
got my username 12 number/digits@skydsl
just confirm it for me as everything thing seems to be working nicely with the router, today ive been told i have service (havent checked)
finally i might just be able to access sky and also use my modem at my mates without cocking it up
cheers Russ

This is after you've flashed the Sky DG834GT to Netgear firmware? (Ref your post http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/showt...0985#post30985)

right the question
ive flashed the box gained access to the basic settings - username and password
vishal mentions using telnet via dos - tying in the above gives you loads of jargon
smack bang in the middle of the jargon is the sky username and password
sky user name 12 numbers and digits - the password is 9 number pppoa at the end
before i go entering my mates orange and bt usernames to test the router
as im still no connected with sky even tho they tell me i am
my connection light is on my mates BT line - but scared to enter info if ive not got the right password
so if somebody tells me ive got the right info then i can mess make sure it fine
sorry for the long reply

if you go through the dos side of cardoso's thread it give you that
#cat /tmp/nvram
then you see a great wod of info - with usename password
there's the 9 digit number just ends with pppoa after the nine digits, i was just trying to attain if this was the correct number not being a programmer just a plain old net user
if not im buggered cus ive already changed it to orange at my mates house

The password is just the alphanumeric string - ignore the ppoa at the end.
In any event, I think I've read that if you were to restore the Sky firmware (on the Sky CD) to the router then you'd get the Sky username/password back.
