TP-Link TL-WDR4300 does not give UK IP
I'm using my TP-Link TL-WDR4300 with OpenWrt Chaos Calmer r45695 to connect to my Sky Fibre connection.
The only problem is that I do not get a working IP for iPlayer as it is convinced I'm not in the UK, even though ITV player and All 4 does not have an issue!
Unplugging my router and reconnecting my Sky Hub SR101 will give me an IP that works.
I can then unplug it a reconnect my router but the IP only lasts for a few days before reverting to a non working IP.
Client ID and Vendor Class are set in my WAN interface settings correctly.
How do I get an IP that works with iPlayer? Unplugging and replugging everything get really tedious!

Re: TP-Link TL-WDR4300 does not give UK IP
Use a site like https://ipcim.com/en/?p=where to find your location based on your IP address.
It may not always be where you expect though, if Sky have registered their allocations correctly, the country should be correct.
According to my IP address I've been sent to Coventry.

Re: TP-Link TL-WDR4300 does not give UK IP
They seem to be in the process of adding exact cordinates of the dhcp server
I have always had a geo location of london on my static ip
which i am quite happy with
due to sky's network topology e.g. everything goes through linx
so its pointless saying your from x
for example
If it says im from bristol speedtest.net will choose a bristol server
i will go from bristol to linx then back to bristol again
due to sky not doing any local peering
Since today it says my actual location is a rather large bt exchange a few miles away from me
(not my exchange btw this must be the closest sky dhcp server location..)
what im trying to get to is by the sounds of it there's a typo on an ip range
sky will fix it in the end
and swapping routers is just coincidence

Re: TP-Link TL-WDR4300 does not give UK IP
Iplayer has problems with this atm, my father in law is on bt and this also often happens, even though the IP is clearly UK on whatsmyip
