      A bit of Help needed

with my BT connection. Just gone from a 2mb Business broadband connection (costing 700 a year) to their 8mb domestic service. Same line, same netgear router - but after 10 days "training" i'm getting 1.8mb. Stable but even less than before.

I want to talk to them, but would like to have some theories about why it can't do better/how it maybe could do. My Sky connection (on a different BT line but from the same exchange and fitted at the same time) is stable at about 12mb. TIA M

I assume you are on MAX Adsl - if so you may have what is called a stuck bras profile - you will need to ask BT to free it if that is the case. What does your bt line sync at?

Have you rebooted your BT Netgear router? Before you go to sleep tonight, power cycle it and see if your sync speed increases (generally better when the circuits are quieter, late at night). Also, post your before and after router stats as well as the stats from your Sky Netgear router and compare.
