      Unable to connect to internet after moving house

      Hi,

      My mum has just moved house and we asked sky to move our current account to her new house, this went fine with the Sky box and said the internet should be working by friday. When I got home this weekend I went to plug in the router and it has a solid amber internet light on. I Went into the router control panel and this is what it shows: imgur: the simple image sharer I have plugged in our phone and that has a dial tone and seems to work fine.

      If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, it would really help.

      Has someone called Sky to see if everything has actually been moved across?

      There are a variety of different issues which cause this and someone at Sky would have a clearer picture to be able to advise.

      My initial thoughts are that the previous ISP hasn't been disconnected, which is why you are seeing the connection stats but not connecting.

      As Scubbie said, you're best ringing Sky for info on what's going on. Solid amber light (no PPP) can be caused by numerous things. Sometimes a reset or power cycle will resolve. Other times it's an outtage, stale session, mac address suspension, router issue or mis-jumper at the exchange to name a few.
