      problem with router and NAS

      Hi,

I ve plugged a Network storage on my sky router but when i try to copie a file with my computer by the wifi on my NAS, all the connections stop and restart after a few seconds.
And the transfert is very slow (about 2mo/s).

At the same time i have an other question, if i buy a router (not modem), can i connect the sky router to the new one??

      Thank you

Wireless is never a good way of transferring large files unless you have made sure your wireless is as stable as possible. Have you checked what channel your router is on and tried changing it?
And yes, you can hook a second router to the Sky router, you need to set a manual IP on the 2nd router and turn its built in DHCP off so the Sky router can handle the IP assignments. I have a 1Gb router/ switch hooked to my Sky router and run the internal network off it and just use the Sky router for the ADSL connection onto the internal network.

      Thanks PaulSky for your answer.

Yes i tried to change the channel (juste one time) but it was the same. Maybe i ll try a few more if you say i could help.
It would be a shame if i cant send files like a film via wireless because i baught that NAS for every computer of my house can acces to that NAS wireless

      (Sorry for my English)
