HD Box Is Not Overriding Current Channel

Sky+ HD box died at the weekend and had a replacement put in yesterday.

When I turn the box on the picture no longer comes up, I have to manually change to channel HDMI1 - anyone know what setting I need to change on the box? I've had a look and cannot find anything!

All the same cables are being used as with the old box and are properly connected.

edit: Television is a Panasonic Viera if that is needed
