      D-Link DSL-2640S

      Hey all

I have a D-Link DSL-2640S router from sky. Because i want 'N' capability's i purchased a Netgear WNR2000 before realising i can't actually use a different modem. Now my questions as you all might of guessed...

      1. Has extracting the username and password been cracked yet on this 'thing'
      2. If not how can i piggyback these 2 (Also i am a router NOOB so in the easiest way possible please haha)
      3. Why don't Sky just let us use our own router's? Not like they're gaining any profit's. They give these hunk a junk's away!

      1. Look at the forum below the 'asking for help' one
      2. Don't know
      3. Because Sky BB was originally designed for people wanting it to just work. It was also to aid with support - only having to support one router speeds things up

      Thanks for your reply
Seen the post moments after posting lol
Tried it but my Netgear still isn't working, tried a hard reset and input my settings to no avail.
Anything you might be able to help with?

      Re: D-Link DSL-2640S

You need to use the correct additional settings, which can be found in the 'Non-Sky router FAQ' section in this forum (VCI/VPI, etc.)

Other than that it tends to be user error inputting the wrong details into the new router

That is an ADSL2+ router you bought and not the cable version, isn't it?
