      Billion 7800N worth it?

      Hello all,

This is probably the wrong place for this.

Just a quick question really, I have been offered a Billion 7800N for 40 by a guy at work that has just moved to VM. I realise that sky frown upon using your own equipment but i was wondering if it would be a worthy investment?

In the house i currently have Cat6 running where possible so this would "upgrade" the network to gigabit straight off the bat, also the benefit of increased wireless would be nice as her indoors would like to use the laptop outside and signal on the netgear supplied only just makes it to the backdoor lol.

I've also read on here that it is prefered due to being more compatible with the conexant equipment installed at the exchange and may give a performance boost which would be nice but not a deal breaker.

      Input appreciated.

Other than the gigabit part I wouldn't say its worth it BUT for 40 you might as well

      Thanks for the quick reply.

Sounds like it wouldn't be a bad thing but how likely is it that i will get moaned at for not using their equipment?

Ah thats ok, i was under some impression that it was a major no no and would lead to the connection being disconnected.

Sky are awkward because it makes the support so much easier having universal products which are plug and play.
