      Alarm systems and SVBN

      Hi i have a quick question please that we are having issue's with at the moment.

      I work in a Tech support dept for a large Alarm installation company and we are getting more and more problems with customers who are on Sky SVBN i think.

      What is happening is that when an alarm needs to contact our alarm recieving Centre, rather than making a single call as it usually does we are seeing multiple signals the a panel problem.

      What we are seeing also is that the panel tries to contact us but doesnt get the right answer so it attempts again and again untill it gives up!

      This affects the panel but more importantly the customer phone bill.

      Could someone please explain (if you know) what the issues are with Sky phone lines etc.

      This doesnt happen when the customer has been on a standard BT line but only when they switch over to Sky.

      If it is too lenghty a reply do you have a number that i could contact someone please.

      Try calling 08442 410 515 and take the phone option and they may put you through to someone who can help. SVBN and alarms are a known problem. Customers are supposed to inform Sky if they have a monitored alarm.
