      second hand router

      hi

now this router should work right? its a sky branded router and the guy i bought it assures me it did work fine ,so am i missing something obvious? my original router connects no problem
is there some step im missing

      cheers

Unless he was suspended at some point it should work fine. If he was suspended then Sky will be blocking the routers login details...

is there a way to put my login details into this router ?
ive searched around and there seems to be some modified firmware that may allow this but the link is no longer working

      Re: second hand router

As the router stands, no. You'd need to flash the generic FW on the router to be able to enter your existing login details

      Re: second hand router

If you got the CD with the router it's very simple check out the guide here to flash it to generic firmware. Kitz Flashing DG934
Remember to use 32-bit Windows XP using vista or windows 7 will likely brick your router as it has for others in the past.

      Re: second hand router

If you flash the router it will no longer be recognised as a Sky router, so it puts you in the same position as anyone using a 3rd party router.

      Re: second hand router

if thats the 2nd hand one then chances are its suspended Sky's end as the original owner may have been cut off/had a virus

      Re: second hand router

Might be an exchange thing, you'd have to call Sky and find out as something can't be right...I'd check with Sky regarding the routers as they can see if they're suspended or not (well, CST can)
