Belkin N1 Vision - Details not accepted by ISP

      Hi Guys,

Thanks to this forum I was able to extract my username and password from my modem to insert into my new Belkin N1 Vision.

The trouble starts when I go into the setup wizard within the N1 and I cannot find sky under the ISP's they already have. So I go through the wizard and choose "my isp is not in the list" and then am prompted to put my details in.

I am using the following details

      VPI 0
      VCI 38
      VCMUX
      MTU 1450

and then when it asks to connect on demand I leave it unticked. I have filled in the username and password as extracted and then it tries to connect but keeps coming back with the fact that the ISP will not accept these details.

      Any ideas???

      thanks in advance.

Apart from the MTU, which should be 1500, your details look correct. Make sure the encapsulation is set to PPPoA not PPPoE.

You can double check your username and password by installing the Sky Router Tool, click the link at the bottom of my sig. Copy and paste the results you get there into a text document then copy and paste them to the relevant boxes in the Belkin settings.

      Cool, will try that.

I def had it set to PPPoA and I will try the MTU as 1500. When using this Sky router tool do I have to be connected to the sky router by network cable?

No it will work OK with wireless, it opens in a web page.

Am i doing something wrong? I am on win 7 and when I install the router tool I am clicking on the program straight from my start menu as it does not appear in my tray.

I then get a webpage on mozilla saying it is unable to connect to Default PLESK Page

I am not sure what is wrong. Clicking the link you provide takes me straight to the Tool so something is right. You should have an icon in the tray for it.

Try right clicking the setup.exe and selecting Run as Administrator and install it again. I am also running Win 7.

Right it actually just needed a reboot of the laptop so it has all appeared now. I have change the settings in the config page but after changing it and pressing apply it has just frozen....it wont do anything else.

Re: Belkin N1 Vision - Details not accepted by ISP

      Ok, update:

I have now connected to it direct with network cable and it seems to connect fine. I have calculated my username and password with the details it requests and it seems to be the same as what I had.

      Any other ideas?
