      I'm hesitating.....

      First post

Have recently signed up for Sky+HD, Sky talk, line rental, and now broadband.
But........after reading some of the problems hereabouts and elsewhere i'm now pondering whether its a good move. Activation date is next Wed 3rd so still time to cancel. Only been offered the Connect service as i live in rural location.
what i dont need is lots of calls to techy support and all the hassle that goes with it as i suffer from parkinsons and stress must be kept at low level
So would appreciate some input from folks hereabout, both positve and negative

Current isp is Eclipse, in the 3 years i've been with them cant fault them

Leave your broadband where it is, cancel Connect. It is probably the worst broadband package available in the UK. Just have a look around this forum for confirmation.

Yes a great many of us are very happy with our Sky LLU broadband. It is the Connect package that is bad, not Sky broadband in general, so please don't go away with that idea.

Bottom line is that if you take Sky Connect then you can kiss goodbye to any internet between 5pm - midnight, especially is you like any sort of streaming like YouTube etc or games.

Yes you can, as Sky do not have any of their own equipment in the exchange, they couldn't move you even if they wanted to

So in short my telephone package can stay with Sky, my line rental too, and really all i need to do is notify Eclipse that i'm staying with them ?

when i cancelled sky bb earliar this afternoon they just took the tag off the line to free the line up and apparently no mac code is needed to go back to eclipse. my cutoff date for mac code expiry with eclipse is 5th march. remember my sky bb was due for activation on march 3rd......

I've clicked the thank you button, but its nicer to say it here for your help, much appreciated

Not too sure about a LLU connection

      Re: I'm hesitating.....

Hopefully if all goes well then, Sky have just stopped the BB install and your MAC will now just expire at the 30 day point like it is supposed too.

I would ring Eclipse though and just confirm with them what you have done so they can keep an eye on the account so it doesn't go anywhere.

Hi as you cannot get Sky LLU the Connect package is a Bt re-badged product. If your exchange is Bamburgh then it has only BT
Market 1 This exchange has BT Wholesale as the sole provider of broadband services.
that means there is no LLU at the Bamburgh exchange. LLU is
LLU - Local Loop Unbundling. BT was forced by legislation to make its local network (the copper cables that run from customers premises to the telephone exchange) available to other companies. It has become a term used to cover non BT ADSL products.
I hope it all goes well
