No Signal Being recieved - All channels

This might be an easy fix but before i get an engineer in i would like you see if there is something simple i can do myself.

We have SKY+ in the living room and sky freeview in the bedroom both off the same dish. Had them for a while so both out of waranty. Here's the issue.

We are just back from a 3 week holiday. Sky has been switched off at the wall the whole time so save money. Its been cold here in NE Scotland, upto -25C but right now its thawing out. There is no snow or ice on the dish, no obstructions, no physical damage and nothing out of the ordinary.

Switched on Sky, got the message to connect it to a phone line. It is already connected to a working phone line. Pressed back up and got the message 'searching for listings' then i got 'No signal being recieved, turn off sky box at wall for 1 minute then try again' (code 29) I have tried this numerous times over a 24 hour period. Same message every time.

No one else in my street i have talked to has had this problem with sky so I think its not weather related. I got the same message on my standard sky (with just freeview) in the bedroom. No signal.

I an not ready to give up 65 quid for an engineer to press a few buttons and boom...everything starts working.

So..what else., under signal test on Services, most of the fields are blank or not locked or 0000.

      Any idea? Many thanks folks.

Chances are the LNB has frozen. It may come back up if you can warm it but I doubt it will.

keeping the box switched on puts power to the lnb which might thaw out in time but may take a few days
if all fails then contact a local contractor and price replacing lnb or [urchase lnb and swap it over yourself if dish is not high and you are competent for the task

Yup defo sounds like LNB, if its had no power through all the frosts then its practically a dead cert, sorry. Even your box going into standby over night isnt enough power to keep damage from happening. I've turned my auto standby off after mine died 3 weeks ago, switched LNB...no problem.
