It is better to use WPA than WEP.

I thought sky used WPA encryption on their routers, maybe they don't always.

yes i know my WEP key. I take it you want it? PM'd or on here?

It does use WPA i think...if you look at the drop down lost it suggests it does?

When i registered my ps3 online, i struggled, found a guide on youtube, i followed that n it connected it via WEP

I have an netgear V1 router and the router is using WPA some maybe he should try it connecting his PS3, I cannot see how WEP would connect if the router is set to WPA.

His router must be configured with WEP security then, weirdly.

I don't need to know it, I was just checking you know it. =]

Okay, I'll take a screen shot of the settings you need to input.

Re: URGENT HELP - Wireless Router Problem

Maybe i brought all this on myself, and now im stuck in a right mess haha!

basically, i entered like IP address in web browser to access wireless settings and changed it to WEP. How do i know if my router is a V1, V2 or wateva?

You should be able to change it back to WPA the same way you changed it to WEP.

Okay, via the drop down menus, select these settings and then type in your WEP key and click on "OK" - This should then fix your problem.
