      non sky broadband question

I have a relative who is with talk talk, I have been doing some rewiring of their extension and master socket and these are the downstream stats:

      Connection Speed: 11200Kbps

      Attenuation: 28.5db

      Noise Margin: 12.5db

Are these stats decent and how much faster should the noise margin let the connection go, and how fast should it be.

      Have a look on here

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/route...explained.html

      for Sky’s ADSL2+ LLU

Don't know if the same applies to talk talk.

ADSL2 speedchecker estimates 14-16mb with that attenuation and as there is some noise margin in hand I would imagine nearer the 16mb should be about right for Sky.

Not sure what TalkTalk set their default NM too though.

I thought Talk-Talk was an "up to 8Meg" service so a faster sync would do you no good.

Edit: I've just checked and it "up to 8Meg" unless you take their Turbo Boost option at £4.00 per month extra.
