Another way of using own router

Ok i need answers to this idea i have one of the sky sagam routers and im thinking i can use a cable router to boost the wireless speeds i have talked to some people and they expressed that there maybe conflicts but i dont see why it wouldnt work and well if it was set up correctly so to put it simpler (SKY ROUTER)>ETHERNET CABLE>(MY OWN CABLE ROUTER)>WIRELESS 108mbps> (COMPUTER)

Also i realise ith the max speed through physical connection is limited to 100mbps so i would only have a external link 100mbps as no service supplies any higher grade hardware.

Can anyone give me a yes or no work or not work just if so wouldn't this kinda solve everyones problems with using their own router ??

      Thanks Matty

Re: Another way of using own router

This is a topic that is fairly well document on this web site.
Quite simple the answer is yes, some of us call this piggy backing, using the sky router for basic gate way and the other router for its better wireless.

Disable the wireless on the sky router but leave the DCHP on for the sky router so as the other router will pick this up, enable wirelss on non sky router.

This also allows you to stay within Sky T&C
