Think I might have killed my router..

Well I was trying to update my router to non-sky firmware (Netgear DG834GT (the white one)). Non of the tutorials I read told me that I shouldnt try this on Vista/Windows 7 and the computer BSOD'd while updating.

My router is now stuck with the green and orange light flashing, and when I connect and ethernet cable to the router, the computer is saying 'Limited or No Connectivity' and doesnt pick up an IP address.

Thus, the Recovery Program (which is now on a XP machine), doesnt pick up the router at all.

I fear it may be a 'write off'.

      Any advice?

      Thanks

Sorted it, searched and used the DG834PN firmware trick. Thanks for the informative forum, saved me a bricked router.

      Apologies for the wasted thread.

pretty much ALL tutorials say don't use Vista for this exact reason - at least you're sorted though...
