      coaxial cable

      Is the thin white cable leading from the phone socket to the sky box called a coaxial cable and what is it used for , My pet rabbit managed to get to the cable and has just chewed through it, everything works as far as I can tell

      It connects the sky box to the phoneline , if you are on multiroom then you will get a letter telling you to reconnect or be charged full price for both boxes, if not you probably will not hear anything, but any interactive/ sky box office orders will not work, you will need to order over the phone if you use box office.

      If it's white, it will be an extension cable, prob fitted by the engineer, as the RJ11 type cable that connects to the box is black. Luckily your BB appears to still be working!! Just replace the extension if you have multiroom, or disconnect it if you dont..
