turn off the wireless on the Sky router and then just connect to your new Netgear with your PCs and it should work...might be wrong though...

hi i unplugged the sky router and reconnected the netgear one to do as you said and it went through the smart wizard again but this time the light went green and the ppoa settings were accepted!! Do you think i should just stick with the dgn 2000 now or do the change as suggested?

      thanks

It should not have been plugged into the ADSL when you were doing the changes!!

As it is working, you would be as well staying with it for the time being. I ought to remind you, that in doing so, you are breaking the T & Cs

The reason I asked earlier about the light , was that the power light showing red is a fairly common problem with these routers, which power cycling a few times usually fixes. That is according to the Netgear site.
