      Extending Wireless Range..

What piece of kit do I need to purchase to extend wireless coverage in my home.

Currently I have a Sky/Netgear black router situated upstairs in my study but if I want to use my wireless laptop downstairs at the back of the house the signal strengenth is very poor and keeps dropping.

I cannot relocate the router due to a number of reasons so I would want to purchase a repeater to extend the coverage, have seen a number around but am unsure which to get as I do not know if they would be compatible with the Sky - can anyone help?

I had a Belkin one and when you managed to get it working it was flakey and not very fast at all due to the handshaking and passing of packets between the 2 wireless devices.

Have you considered powerline homeplugs, I ditched the wireless in favour of these and I am having a lot less greif with these.

If you must have wireless you can even get powerline homeplugs with a wireless adaptor at one end.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!
