Admin note: New thread started - 2 posts split off from "non Sky router FAQ"
Sky Tech help gave me my adsl username and password, as they thought that apache server was something to do with my xbox and couldn't help with why I couldn't connect to my apache server,
Anyway I put the new logon details into my netgear dg834 (not sky branded)
And I get "CHAP authentation failed" though it does connect, well I get up and down stream connection speeds.
I'm a bit stuck now as the sky branded router (sagem) is a bit crap!
Did sky tech help fob me off with a made up password?
I know the username is correct!
How many characters is the password supposed to be?

Re: Wrong password?
The ADSL password for a Sagem router is 15 characters long, and can contain letters (both lower-case and capitals), digits and/or the the characters + and /
There's no need to contact Sky to get your ADSL user name and password, they can be found out by following this link. This also has the advantage that you can cut-and-paste the information into a file, and from there into your own router.
