      i got no message...

Ok i was on my laptop browsing the web when suddenly my internet went, i looked at my router and saw that the power light and test light were flashing alternatively. So i unplugged my router, waited then plugged it in and same thing.

i was forced to call sky and they sent me the V2 router

i used to have the white one but now it doesnt work.

is there any way of fixing it?

      Thanks!

I think I would try using the reset button -- various tips on resetting can be found if you visit netgear.com and their user forum -- click on any post by a Moderator called jmizoguchi and look at the links he provides.

Resetting the router will do nothing that the power cycle hasn't managed. If turning the power off to the router for 30 seconds and then runing back on does not resolve the lights flashing issue then you can try the recovery utility that is on the Sky cd that came with the router. Failing that you can download the utility from netgear but you need access to the internet for that and will also need a copy of the sky firmware.
I take it you cannot access 192.168.0.1 at all?

      no i cannot

      "connection has timed out"

192.168.0.1 is taking too long to respond

      Re: i got no message...

To do a proper reset on the sky router resets the firmware and should start working.

      1. Unplug the router from the power
      2. Press and hold the reset button
      3. Switch the power back on as you hold the reset button,
      4. The lights will flash 12 times then release the button,
      5. This will take 10 minutes for the reset to complete

If there firmware is completely wiped then there is nothing you can do with the router

      Regards

      P

Hang on what router you got at the moment that is not working? Have you got the white router or the black router as you are stating you were sent a V2 but have a white router? Why are you not using the V2 router?
