cctv remote viewing, router settings and port forwarding

hi, hoping someone can help me.

i am trying to view my cctv camera from the internet ( i have correct software and all the equipment) the system works fine on any pc in my house connected to the lan, but viewing from outside the home has not been possible as of yet.

Im sure its something to do with ports and my router settings, or is it something to do with port 80 (as when i type the ip addy of my cam system into ie away from home i keep getting the router and not the cctv software)

would anyone care to install this cctv software(works with any capture card webcam etc and its free for 21 days) and see if they can get it to work from a pc that s not in there house, and then tell me what settings they used?
i-Catcher Sentry Trial Registration - i-Catcher Digital CCTV & Webcam Software

      2. just bought a ip network camera today, this also works fine on all lan connected pcs, but again i cant get into this from the out side, this camera has its own mini server built in and conects directly to the sky router, it has a local ip. http://cctv.ddns.ms:1009 i cant see why this one dose not work either, i have port 1009 allowed in the router etc, this addy works on alll lan pcs, i will leave this camera on if anyone wants to try and view, you will need to allow the activex in order to control and view the cam (this is mot the same as the above software /9which is the main one i want to get to work)

      3. in both cases, i have changed the port of the system on the software, i have the added and opened this port in services and firewall rules (in sky router) and have shut down mcafee firewall - but still can not get in through out side, i have also set up a ddns thingy lol (the static ip thing where you sign up for the static web addy, this addy also works on all local lan pcs)

      4. anyone have a pc web based cctv system what conponets are you using?

      5. sky router only has 4 inputs, what do i need (if its possible) to have another 10 inputs

any help would be welcome as i am not going to add any more cameras until i can get these 2 systems fully working by remote viewing.

      many thanks

ok, update i have reset my router back to factory setiings. i have set up one ip camera using the port guide from this site, but i can not check to see if it works as it needs to be done from out side - this is the ip addy i will leave it on for 20 mins, could someone click and see what happens.

if it works then i will try a new ddns service.

not seeing anything in guest mode, just a red cross. and in the other mode it is asking for a user and p/word.

Re: cctv remote viewing, router settings and port forwarding

ok, if it dose not work in java mode you need to allow activex after you allow the top bar you still have to allow activex in you explorer settings, for any other browser i dont know. this was just a cheap network camera, im going to upgrade and extend if i can get the test equipment to work.

my gf wont allow me to give you ptz accses lol, i will switch it on later though, however you can still view the live images for now, as i experminent with my cctv network, guest mode should be fully open to anyone, you need to allow the activex once by clicking at the top of the ie window and it must be allowed in the actual settings of ie, by clicking tools etc
