Yes, but your call, many have done.

I think the biggest issue is when Sky roll out the new firmware, this is where thay can tell if you are using your own router or not.

Re: Will I be breaching the terms and conditions?

      Hi there.

EERR to NewsreadR who will prolly get my request to reset my password, It's working now. Dunno what happned, wasn't me tho LOL.

Anyway about this "which router to use" When I first ordered Sky broadband I asked the salesman type chappie if I could use my own router otherwise I would not be going with Sky and his words to me were, " You can use your own router if you wish." I then told him not to bother sending me a Sky router and just send me my user name and password in a letter, He told me that I would get the sky router anyway and to chuck it in the bin or sell it on Ebay. Now I know that those remarks were made with his tongue in his cheek so to speak but I had asked 2 perfectly sensible questions and those were the replies I got. Needless to say I didn't get my password in a letter, in fact I have had nothing from sky except their router, no software security or otherwise and no letter. I also did not sling the router in the bin or sell it on Ebay. But I am using my own router which is a Netgear 54G one as opposed to the sky 108G one as the Netgear 108g ones DO suffer from dropout caused by the router overheating which I reported on this forum in an ealrier post. I had 3 of those routers a few years ago way before Sky ever thought of broadband and I got exactly the same problems then.
