      Re: Netgear DG834G Wireless router

To be honest, I'm not sure why you'd bother as they are similar models, unelss you want a spare. It's feasible the AOL model has the original (and probably better) Netgear firmware (but knowing AOL it could be worse -- so consider updating the firmware with standard Netgear code).

The Sky router user name is concealed. Go to Forums (button at the top of this page), Technical Discussions, Jose Cardoso's post on the utility for extracting the user name and password from the Sky router.

      Write down the details extracted.

For convenience I would then use 2 computers with Internet Explorer and go to the user interfaces of both routers. The logins may be different -- the Sky User name is admin Password sky. The AOL one probably User name is admin Passsword is password.

Replicate all the settings from the Sky to the AOL/Netgear (bear in mind that the menus in the latter may look different to the Sky ones due to different firmware). Add the user name as extracted using the utility.

      Re: Netgear DG834G Wireless router

My AOL DG834G Wireless router works fine on sky (Once user name and password are entered) and as far as i know you cant link two DG834G routers wirelessly.
