I just did the stupidest thing :(

      Stupidest mistake ever.

I was messing about with firewall settings and made a right pigs ear of them so I used a backup of my config file to restore settings.

I lost connection immediately after the restoration though - somehow the backup config file is missing username and password.

I've opened the config file and it shows as:

      [20201]"Login"=
      [20202]"Password"=

Now, I have no idea how this has happened to my backup copy but I do recall making a separate copy of just the login/password and uploading it to my GMail account via GMail Drive - I guess I cut and pasted the details rather than copied and pasted! I also can't find the email but I did have a clear out of GMail a while back so I figure I deleted it.

Can Sky Broadband customer services help me out or is the login/password settings in the img file on the Sky install CD?

      Welcome to the forum

OK - no need to panic yet.

First off try a reset of your router by pushing a pen tip or paperclip end into the little hole on the back of the router just below the power cord. You need to hold it in for around 10 seconds. The router must be powered when you do this.

If that doesn't restore things (and I think it should) then you will need to reflash your router firmware. We can worry about that if it is needed - instructions are available on this site.

I know how to re-flash firmware so I'll give that a go

Did a reset not sort it then?
