Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Want to use Sky Player? Want to know how to set it up? Everything you need to know is here....

To visit the Sky Player website, click this link Sky Player Home Page

To activate / setup Sky Player - You will need to login to your 'My Sky' Account.

http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skyco...ration&ap=saop

Login with your normal 'My Sky' details, ie Username and Password

Once logged in you will see the following:

Sky Player can only be used on one PC. You now need to decide if the PC you are using right now is the one you want to use for Sky Player.

You also need to agree to the Sky Player Terms & Conditions and choose a parental control PIN. This can be used later to control access by your children.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
Once you have filled out this section, by choosing the PC and then putting in a PIN code and then accepting the Terms and Conditions, we should hopefully be ready to go.

Hopefully you should then get the following message

  1. Download the application and save somewhere easily found, ie Desktop.
  2. Once downloaded, double left click to install
  3. Just use the default options on installation

To launch Sky Player

Double left the Sky Player Icon on your desktop

Once you have chosen what Genre you wish to watch you should get a screen similar to this

Click on the image of the program / film etc that you wish to watch

Then click on Get This Now

On my first attempt, I had to again login to My Sky via the application and then perform a DRM upgrade, all the steps are clearly shown within the application's window. Follow these steps and you should be good to go.

To watch Sky Player from My Sky - Select Sky Player from the left hand side

Then select from the Quick Links at the top left hand side of the screen

Once you have chosen what Genre you wish to watch you should get a screen similar to this

Click on the image of the program / film etc that you wish to watch

Then click on Get This Now

How is your Sky Admin section in the fancy Sky backgroup. Mine is still the dull blue and grey. Do I need to upgrade?

Cheers

Sky Player just isn't working well enough for the Ashes, live or highlights. No problem streaming BBC iPlayer or 4od, and I don't have to hand over a credit card for those, so what's the excuse?

Yes, this seems to be a problem with the Sky Player and their methods of buffering. BBC iPlayer and other programs never have any problems on my computer yet when I load up Sky Player, it buffers on the high and medium settings. They need to look at their platform a bit more.
