sashaelliott on 13 February, 2008 21:41:40
what happens if you dont have a sky email account? My email provider is supanet.com but i use sky and my broadband provider. I used to have my out going server as smtpsky.com but it no longer works... any sugestions?
Zico on 15 February, 2008 18:54:43
ivanwaterman - You have to log onto the Sky.com website and go into your email first. Inside the Google/Sky mail page goto Mail Settings then Forwarding and POP. There is a setting here to say Enable POP mail. Once you have done that, the above settings should work with Outlook Express.

sashaelliott - Your incoming email settings should stay the same but your outgoing settings need to be updated to the new smtp.tools.sky.com outgoing settings (along with authentication etc.)

I can receive emails but I cannot send them. A message appears stating "the TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the Server, Account pop.tools.sky.com. Error no. 0x800ccc0f
Can anyone help?
Kit on 08 June, 2009 14:35:58
Help please? We have sky for our broadband but it's a shared student house, nobody seems to have the account information. Just putting in the smtp.tools.sky.com doesn't let me send emails, that's all I need, my webmail is getting full! Please someone help? What do I add, what do I do?

I use wi-fi from my landlady's router. She recently changed from Wanadoo to Sky and now I can't send e-mails from OE on my laptop but I am still receiving them.
Any remedies?

Have tried installing Outlook Express as that was the system I had always used, before moving out of cable area, and having to install Sky
Have paid a professional to get OE to work and despite him going through process with Sky team, totally unable to get OE Nightmare. Why?

julie on 03 November, 2009 13:17:39
Hi, what you need to do is go to my sky, then manage additional user, then set up a additional user, fill the form in as yourself giving yourself another username and password,
then enter the new username and password on your outlook setting and it should work,
then i set myself as the main user in my sky ,billing center, upgrade.
I then deleting the old one.
hope that helps :)

Just moved everthing over from BT to Sky and all went perfect, also e-mail to OE, not sure why that worked but it has.
Hilary Evans on 20 November, 2009 17:50:54
Hi, just read all the comments, I too am total fed up that I can't get out look express. I have done all the long list of things sky say, but it is no good. I will try what Julie suggests a new username and password, then I shall throw the towel in, Sky are hopeless at helping. Hilary

Have spent hours trying to solve the problem with Outlook Express and getting no where. Sky technical Dept less than useless. Wish I had stayed with my old provider as this is causing me real problems.
roger french on 13 December, 2009 12:55:44
As previous comment SKY ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS. Ive tried always to set up E,mail using OUTLOOK EXPRESS but SKY TECHS could not help either. Cant wait to part company from sky and back to Cable

My mate whose a computer buff has just spent the best part of 5 hours trying to sort out Outlook Express as my e,mail account and has failed. this is a conspiracy on SKY,s part to get you to use sky e,mail. the sooner I leave the better.
neil jackson on 18 December, 2009 09:22:21
just spent an hour sorting this out with outlook express.!! eventually noticed that in the sky account settings part that both pop3 and imap were enabled. disabled imap, saved. removed account from outlook and redid just in case and hey presto it worked !!!! sky mail now deliverd to my pc through outlook express. :)
Pauline Whitlaw on 07 January, 2010 13:08:05
I've just swapped from BT to Sky as well and the only way I can receive/send emails on Outlook Express is to forward all my emails from MySky to my other email address through our business website which is also forwarded to Outlook. I've been told this isn't totally reliable though as it's going through 2 portals but I'm still angry at wasting so much time on the phone with Sky that I thought I'd better cool off for a few days before trying again. The technical helpdesk are totally useless they even said it was a Microsoft problem but couldn't tell me why and I hate to imagine how much my bill is going to be as I was routed to M'soft in the USA and still got nowhere as they didn't know what I was talking about!

Just connected to Sky and don't like the Email page at all the colour is too light and the click boxes are spread all over the place. Tried to set up with Outlook Express and failed have been to professional computer wizards and they can't set it up. Spent £45 so far and have tried asking sky but its like asking my 6month old grandson. It is disgraceful that a massive company like sky can't help or design a better Email page in the first place. I have been with Tiscala for years and never had a single problem. COME ON SKY READ SOME OF THESE COMMENTS OR YOU WILL START LOOSING CUSTOMERS BIG TIME.
Michael (SKY) on 07 February, 2010 22:46:44
I work for sky in the newcastle department and emails is one of, if not THE biggest issue for most customers and most advisors. If you call up and ask for your email address to be sync'd using the sync tool then it will work. steps you need to do: go to sky.com and log in with user and pass, if your in then you need to go to outlook and remove ALL email accounts, at this point ring sky and ask to sync your email address, once sync'd restart pc, after restart then you need to add a whole new email in outlook using same user and pass you used for sky.com before pc restart. once it is added using all correct settings as top of this page (including @sky.com part in username) then you will be able to access all emails fine. i'm the email wizard there at newcastle call centre for sky ;)

AAAARGHH! All I want is my email to come to my windows mail and my i phone....I am not asking for much! Please help

Hi, I had a problem with a new email address I added to my existing Sky profile. When I set it up in Outlook Express it just kept asking for username and password. As I already had 2 Sky email addresses setup in OE I was very confused until I read the message above about from Micheal in Newcastle. I rang Sky and asked them to "sync" my email addresses which they did and then OE worked perfectly as soon as they had done it. I didn't have to delete any email accounts from OE, it was one simple phone call to Sky.
Chris on 23 October, 2010 18:55:17
Thankyou,thankyou,thankyou....I have been struggling with this for 3 days.....did it exactly as you said and hey presto it worked.
