I too find my download speed slow at 1.6mbps despite the fact that I should receive speeds of up to 10mbps. Isn't anything being done to improve speeds? I've been stuck at these speeds for years, despite my ISP.

A package sold as "up to 8mbps," yet I only get 1.7! Not even close!

i have this upto 8MBPS and i have no bad comments. i signed up and sky said the usual sales pitch.... we will upgrade the server and lines in your area very soon. so for now you will receive a low connection speed. but soon afetr the initial 12 months contract i noticed visibly different speed in which the internet pages were running! bob your uncle and ****y your aunt. all of a sudden i was receiving over 8.78MBPS
too ensure you are getting the right connection ensure you have all the broadband splitters in the right place and that you dont have too many on the lines in the house this has a massive effect on the speed in which reaches your pc/laptop.
