Our members are reporting that the Sky Sagem F@ST 2504 routers, are receiving a new automatically updated Firmware.

It would appear that the roll out of the new FW for the Sagem F@ST 2504 router has now started.

Unfortunately we were not tipped off about this, however posts are now appearing on our forums, stating that the FW version is indeed 1.9Sky

One of the issues that was allegedly being addressed, was the difficulties connecting to a VPN connection, that so many people had complained about, in the past. Although this has been denied this evening by a known member of Sky Staff.

A couple of new features have been introduced:

Cannot browse error page, so you know if there is an issue with your Internet Connection.

Sagem cannot browse

New Wireless Access List Screen, this makes it far easier to allow access for your wireless devices.

Sagem Wireless Access Screen

Discuss this in our forums.

The VPN issues have not been looked at allegedly.

You can kick the FW upgrade off yourself.

can anyone help and advise if anything can be done to connect to a VPN from the SAGEM router. It connected to my previous work VPN but not this one. I can work on a white Netgear router, so not sure whether I could get a Netgear one and swap it. Would Sky be stringent to do anything about this? I am really stuck otherwise! Does the FW upgrade help?

Sky have broken (sorry had to edit this) my router during this update. I was on the phone to them for 40min trying various repairs. They have told me they will need to send me a new router, which will take five to eight working days.

Version 1.9Sky doesn't resolve the VPN connectivity problems - it's still rubbish
