Hi SkyUsers...

We’re aware a company called Sat Link Services has been contacting some of our customers asking for bank details and threatening that Sky will suspend their viewing if details are not given. This is categorically not true and this company is not affiliated with Sky in any way.

We pursued a company called Satellite Direct all the way to the High Court over its own misselling activities and won our case. We continue to track activities of other companies and investigate customer feedback in instances of passing off or misselling.

We do respect people are free to choose any warranty but want to ensure no-one is misled with underhand tactics. Sky's officially approved warranty product is called Sky Protect which is provided on our behalf by Domestic and General.

Satellite Direct. I, along with hundreds of others have been scammed by the scumbag (s) who run this company, now out of operation. I believe he is now trading as Satlink. We had money taken out of our d/d account without our knowledge or agreement. This scumbag company can only continue for so long before the law will catch up and they will get their just desserts.

£65 was taken from my account without my permission by satellite direct,I can never get to them by phone i have sent a letter to them but no reply, I did cancel by letter 3 years ago but this year they have started again, I have also cancelled the d/d at my bank which I did 3 years ago but to no avail.

Shocking that such companies can get away with such behaviour. I always thought the direct debit scheme put the control of payments in your hands - clearly not - some are reporting being charged after cancelling!

Sat Link Services phoned me to say they represented Sky and offered me an extended warranty on my SkyHD+ Box (how did they know I had one?)When I phoned their 0871 number I was held in a queue for 30mins, then the phone went dead. I have written and e-mailed twice. My letter to their M/D prompted a call, but only suggested I reset the system. In the end Sky agreed to exchange my 12 month old faulty box FOC, all done within 48 hours. Hope someone prevents Sat Link Services from doing this again.

I can confirm that I also have the same results when trying to contact this company. On the phone it just goes dead after about 20 mins (I bet they're getting the money for the 0870 call too), and by email they reply (eventually) that they are having trouble with their system and I should phone instead.

I purchased warranty in January from Sat Link Services like others I have been scammed. Perhaps sky should have wrote to customers explaining there was a bogus company with the companies
name(s). According to other web links this has been going on for many months.

My sky is not working properly. No signal. Phoned Sat link, message on phone says services suspended for temporary. Phoned Sky they say i have to contact them and gave me different tel No and cannot get through after holding the phone for 35 minutes
Sky should have let their viewers know as soon as they found out this company was a bogus. They have been taking money out of my direct debit account. until i found out today. I hope someone will answer the phone tommorrow.

I looked at Sat Link after trying the two numbers in their info and also heard the temporary suspended message. Iam in the second of a 3 year warrenty. They have my credit card number. Any suggestions or advice for cover and will Ibe able to reclaim money on remaining amount?

Having similar problems to others. My Bank say that I should send an e-mail to the Sat Link Services and Satellite Direct cancelling any agreement I have with them. Problem is I don't have their e-mail address, can anyone help.

I took out a warranty with this company 2 years ago and was also told that they were sky. I called them today but there no is temporary suspended. They took money out my account in January 2009 without my permission, no DD was ever set up, I have been told by my bank that they could take the money again as i paid for this on a debit card and they can use all the details again, they only way to stop them taking money again is to close my account and open a new one.

Similar as above, they also took an over payment and when I got through earlier this year they said they would stop my d/d of £10 per month for 6 months to account for the overpayment, how very convenient! I was just wondering how did SAT cover get our contact details in the first place? I was called a week after I had placed my order with sky - if it was sky that gave my details out to SAT Cover should it be SKY that pay up / refund me ??

I took out a 3 year guarantee on my Sky+ Box in November last year for £130.
I wonder how they knew that our first guarantee was running out? Perhaps Sky can tell us? They said they were fully supported by Sky.
Today is the first time we had to call them. The phone number they gave for callouts was "Temporarily Suspended" and I discovered they had moved office and had a new phone number - but that was dead too. I wonder if anyone at Sky could help me get my £130 back?

Hi Guys,
Judging by the date of your comments, you probably dont know that Satellite Direct, Sat Link Services and Something Services and whatever else name they went by, ceased to trade as of 23rd October 2009. The company is in administration, they closed leaving a massive trial of debt behind them including 10 weeks wages owed to Engineers who worked there unaware of their scam.

P. Pizziol i would not want to stick my neck out and say they are the same company but, probably an extension off.

You can search this company under the Boakes web site, just type a search of Satellite Direct under Yahoo. and look for Boakes, they have some information.

Good Luck.
