Sky Live - A new Project?

Our friends at MarkMonitor.com have been on the lookout for some new domain names for Sky.

Currently, www.skylive.co.uk and www.skylive.com are up for sale by one of our members, and that person has been approached by MarkMonitor to purchase them on behalf of a client.

As we already know, MarkMonitor register domains for Sky. The same company that purchased all the Picnic Domains in August of this year.

To protect the deal details, we will not mention how much the owner of the domains was offered to sell both. However we do know that the initial offer that MarkMonitor made, was rejected by the current owner.

Another point of interest was the way that MarkMonitor handled the enquiry. They used a GMail account to enquire, however they forgot NOT to click on the Read Receipt, which read acquisitions at markmonitor.com Obviously this was not a Skoogle Email account as it worked.

So why would Sky want these two new domains? We have heard various sources of information that this is for "an internal newspaper type website" - Unconfirmed.

Update: Apparently the newspaper type website thingy is called SkyLife, so does infact beg the question, why Sky Live?

Unfortunately my Sky+ Player has developed a fault as of today (Saturday 19th September 2009).

On the main menu, when I select the green Planner button, and nothing happens. I have left the screen up for over an hour and nothing changes, so clearly there is a fault with the new box, which is only a couple of months into the guarantee.

"PLEASE WAIT" is the message that appears.

In addition to this the same message as above appears when I also try to press the record button on the Sky handset. Looks like the box has developed a problem.

I am a student moving into a shared house and i need a broadband package. The house doesn't have a landline installed but there has been internet at the house before so there should be a line to the house. I don't really want to add sky tv, just want broadband. With the broadband i'd need line rental with sky too..correct? How much would it cost a month in total for both unlimited usage and limited usage with a sky package? Thanks
